I decided to launch… wait that sounds like I’m starting a company…

I wanted to create this site… ugh… passive voice... did you or did you not create it?!

Hi, my name is Byron and I started Go Wild Board Games for two reasons: one is selfish and the other, I hope, isn’t. The selfish reason is that it gives me a way to share my thoughts and experiences about the games I love. Doing this, especially as a solo gamer, makes me enjoy them more and somewhat fills the social void around our solitary player count. My muttering monologue at the table is a poor substitute for bluffing, bantering, strategizing, and debriefing with another player.

The non-selfish reason is that I want to create the board game version of cozy curated book nooks. I’d like you to be able to immerse yourself in helpful resources to learn a game, gameplay tips to get better, variants to spice things up, and bump into other gamers who like the same games you do. No matter where you are on your journey with a game – just learning, getting immersed, or a seasoned pro – I hope you can find something interesting here.

I don’t intend to start from scratch to do that. Alongside my own videos, reviews, and session reports I will link to content that others have produced. There is no reason to recreate the content wheel. I welcome input if I’m missing this one awesome tutorial video or YouTube channel or fan-created content that was super helpful for you.

To the right (or below, if you’re on a device) you’ll find a short list of posts where I get into more meta topics that don’t fit with any particular game and give you more context about me and where I’m coming from in my approach to gaming and writing about games.

There’s a contact form below if you’d like to get in touch. On most pages you’ll find a comments section if you’d like to talk about that particular game, session, video, or whatever, so use this contact form for more general inquiries.
